Final cut render
I’m running final cut 5 on a new G5. I produced a short production on HDV without any issues.
Now I have loaded a couple of hrs of DV footage using the DV settings. Everything seems to run as it did on my old G4 but when I drag any clip from the view to the timeline…I have to render it to see it in the timeline. I must have something set wrong. Any suggestions?Thanks in advance.

Your sequence is set for HD so it must render DV to run inside the HD environment.
See the manual for how to change your sequence settings.
