how do you create chapters on your timeline in final cut pro 5 so that when you import your mpeg 2 clip from final cut to dvd studio pro the chapters are already placed on the timeline???

You need to use markers (M key) on your timeline – consult the FCP and DVDSP manuals, the detailed info is in there.
