Final Cut Pro…Mouse locks up…here we go again…HELP!!!
Earlier I posted https://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/8/1021918 a request for help with a mouse freezing. I took the common advice offered and removed the Apple Raid card and installed a Cal digit Raid card installing a fifth hard drive in the optical bay for applications and OS and setting up raid five for the other four hard drives. The computer came back and worked for a while but after it laid idle for a while the mouse locked up AGAIN. We’ve switched from wired to wireless apple mice and now have a logitech wireless mouse and it locks up also. 99% of the time we are using Final Cut ..though yesterday it locked up while in Safari looking for help….speaking of help!!! any suggestions

You may have a USB problem…any drivers installed for any 3rd party USB devices?

No but the problem did stat as soon as we installed the first Apple raid card and has continued to date

I started having this problem w/fcp recently after installing a new printer on our octo-core. Haven’t noticed it in other apps but it’s probably there. I keep the usb mouse plugged into the keyboard and just unplug/replug the cable and it comes right back to life. Funny thing is we recently moved the printer from a quad-core and never had the problem there (but that machine is running panther, the octo is running leopard).
