Final Cut Pro/Motion Crashing
This weekend, while working on a video for a trade show, Motion started crashing. Now, every time I try to open a Motion file in FCP, I get the beach ball and then FCP crashes. If I try to create a new project in Motion, Motion crashes.
So far, I have trashed my preferences and completely uninstalled FCS using FCS Maintenance Pack and then reinstalled. Still having the same problem.
The Crash Analyzer in Maintenance Pack tells me that the problem appears to be related to my graphics card, particularly with Open GL (I have an Nvidia GeForce card). However, I was using FCS for six months prior to this problem starting.
Any help that you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Marshall,
That may be a hardware limitation.
Try exporting directly from Motion and import the file to FC.

I thought about that; I just can’t figure out why it started out of the blue when it was working fine the day before.

What did NVidia support say?

Can you please post the crash log or the “Relevant line” section in Crash Analyzer.

I had exactly the same thing happen. I ended up trashing the entire project and starting again, because nothing i did allowed fixed the problem.
