    Hi guys,
I need to know about some Final Cut Pro training. I work for a small, non-profit organization that would like to train me to do short video programs. I have played around with FCP HD for about a year and know a lot of the basics, I think. What do you guys recommend? Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi Keely,
As long as you got a certain practice with FC, I would recommend you the book of Kevin Monahan: “MOTION GRAPHICS AND EFFECTS IN FINAL CUT PRO. You got almost everything inside.

I’d recommend a class with a Certified Instructor too. or hire one to work with you for a couple of days one on one…it will teach you faster, and instruct you on the things you’re needing to know the most. Show you what YOU need to be able to do.

All of the Apple training books are good too I think… even the basic one might show you some things you didn’t know how to do. It’s been my experience that the self taught, learn what works, but what may not be the most effiecient…. or even best.

Thanks, Rafael, I have heard good reviews on that book. I will definitely check it out. Jerry, yours looks really good. I have been self-taught mostly and know there’s a lot of pieces I’m missing that could make it easier.

Has anyone heard of GeniusDV’s 5 day Final Cut Pro Training in Orlando? It looks really good; in depth, video editing from importing to output which is what I need. Can anyone recommend this?

    Thanks,
    Keely
