HI there — just stumbled onto this forum, and I thought I would ask for a little help. I am having no success burning timecode onto tape.

I am using the “edit to tape” function”, and when I go to black my tape I record black, but the timecode is not burned.

I need some help please, because I really need this to work.

I am using Final Cut Pro HD 4.5. I am trying recording back on to my Panasonic DVC PROHD camera.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    thanks
    chris

For Edit to Tape I black the beginning of the tape using the decks internal TC generator. I only black a minute or two and stop when I get past the TC of the bars (or) start of the program. Then I set the deck to reg (still on internal) Then ETT does its thing and starts to record at the in point.

Unfortunately for us there are no LTC outputs for mac with the exception of the aja io. you are stuck with pre striping a tape with fcp. it would be a nice feature to be able to print file source timecode to tape- Apple are you listening??
