My FCP system is having problems relaying correct TC to the Beta SP 2800 deck. When I try to black a tape for instance at 00:58:00:02, the deck jumps to a random TC and the beginning of the tape and starts recording at that random TC. I had the deck checked out and everything is fine. I believe that it is an issue with a setting in FCP or possible the Aja IO which is communicating thru the 9 pin remote connector. Any ideas????

The problem is not with FCP. Nor is the AJA IO at fault. The problem is with the device that sits between the keyboard and the edit chair.
The deck is probably doing just what you’re telling it to do. Check the underside of the front pannel on the deck. You’re t.c. setting should read INT, PRE SET, and REC RUN.

    Stop using an assemble edit
it is compounding your time — use an insert edit after you re-stripe the tape once again.
