final cut pro pro-res
what are the advantages/disadvantages of digitizing in the “pro-res” mode in final cut… is it a compression issue, a space issue, both???

Saves space over Uncompressed codecs. Looks as good, but less space.

Uncompressed HD requires extremely fast drive arrays. Though you still need a decent RAID to do serious work using Pro Res in HD, the necessary investment is much lower
