I’m trying to add an outerglow to a video in final cut pro 6. I have nested my videos then applied the effect and it has worked great in the past tries. Now I’m trying to add the same effect to a newly nested video and the outer glow looks more like a hard line border than a glow. It’s not curved like it should be and I have even messed with the filter settings and still cannot get it to look right. I’ve pasted attributes from a previous nested video with the correct looking outer glow and it still gives me this square border looking line instead of a glow. Does anyone know if something with settings need to be changed? It’s the same size video as previous ones and I can’t figure out why it won’t work. Please help! Thanks!

Not sure if this will help…

Be sure to first delete any existing attributes from the clip before pasting attributes. When you paste clip attributes they are added to any existing attributes that were applied to the clip previously which can create unintended results… or as in my case a cool effect that I would never have come up.

Some of my best creative ideas have come from my mistakes.

Actually figured it out so if anyone runs into a similar issue, I just had to feather the edges before nesting and sometimes even cropping the slightest would help. Thanks!
