Final Cut Pro HDV codec and Premiere Pro
Hello,
I’m capturing HDV720p30 footage shot with the JVC 100 camera using Final Cut Pro 5. And giving the footage via firewire drive to someone who will edit the project in Premiere Pro 2. Can Premiere recognize the Final Cut Pro video codec (which is a quicktime codec)?Thanks

probably will have to transcode to AVI on the PC, but you should test one clip and see how it works, including the final output, whatever format that is, before diving in to the whole project.

My guess is that Quicktime file should work fine in Premiere Pro except it will need rendering where a native HDV file captured by Premiere Pro would not.
Try one short clip and find out.

Have you figured out a solution? I have a very similar issue I’m trying to find an answer to.
Anyone have an opinion about using an image sequence to do something like this? They’d be pretty universal, right?

I had a similar problem.
I shot a short film with the JVC HD100 using 720p24.
The solution to capture the footage to the computer was to use a JVC deck player and the FCP 6.0.4
