Final Cut Pro HD 4.5 won’t open. Bypass audio plugins?
I just had to reformat my computer and now I cannot get FCP to open. I am mainly an audio person and so I have a lot of audio plugins being used with MOTU’s Digital Performer and Logic Pro. These include Wave Platinum Native and Native Instrument’s Komplete 3, among many others. So, what happens is this. The program starts to open and then starts looking at the audio plugins. After approximately 15 minutes of going through them, it stops and a window comes up asking me if I want to report this to Apple, try to Reopen the program or just stop. I have done this at countless times over the past 4 days and it never makes it through all the audio plugins. I have started from an external drive and rebuilt my disc and repaired disc permissions, many times. I have had Techtool4 repair the disc, I have had Disk Warrior repair and rebuild and I have even had Norton Disk Doctor look at it. Nothing I do can get the program to boot. I have zapped the PRAM. I ran the Apple Pro applications program. I am at a loss. I just reinstalled FCP 4.5 and that did not help. By the way, LogicPro and DP both work with all the plugins installed, so I don’t think that it is the plugins. Does anyone have any ideas? Can I bypass the audio plugins on startup and add them in after the program opens? If that’s possible, do you think that would help? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
