Final Cut Pro AVI – Sony Vegas?
Hello.
I have been using Sony Vegas 7 to do my editing on a hobby basis. However, given that I want to start college soon and all the colleges I’ve researched used Final Cut Pro, as do most production companies, I want to start working/editing with it.
I have just ripped over 300 hours of TV Show Episodes in AVI format, however, – unbeknownst to me – Final Cut apparently cannot read these clips (given as they are imported with a red screen where the video should be. I dread having to go in and covert all of this media to mov or some other format and also storing it on my harddrive because I still have to rip 100 more hours of media and I also still want to work with Sony Vegas. Is there something I can install into Final Cut so that it can import and read AVI files successfully so that I can edit it?
If not, I can convert them, but I would like the best file type. And if possible, if I have to convert them, I’d like to convert them so that they can also work in Sony Vegas.
Thanks alot!
I have Final Cut Pro 6.0.5
And my Mac OS X is version 10.5.6
Processor: is a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory: 1 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
