    Hey guys,

my company hired the sony m10 the other week for an HDV job. the idea was to playout some HD (1920×1080) footage out to HDV.

the entire conversion process and such was fine (albeit slow – 30min to conform a 6 min clip?) – the problem was when we went to edit to tape i got a message about not being able to control the deck for HDV….

What I had to do instead was hit record on the deck and then print to tape…

could i have done something wrong? should FCP 5 be able to edit to tape?

Is there a menu setting on that deck for Firewire control? I remember reading something on one of these forums about a setting in one of the menus to set the control to I-Link which is what Sony calls Firewire on their prosumer models.

I believe I had to black stripe the tape for 10 seconds, it finally went into record but needed a signal to lock on, other wise I have just hit the deck’s rec ord button.
