  • Final Cut Pro 7 exits when importing avchd folder

Posted by Giovanni Gaglia on January 23, 2010 at 11:25 pm

I’m beginning to use Final Cut Pro and I have to work with many sd cards avchd canon.
I created on my hd several folders (data1,data2, etc) and I put the entire content of the sds on every folder.
When I try to import the files in Final Cut I use the “log and transfer” option.
I succeeded to do it with 7 out of 9 folders, without problems.
With the remaining 2 I’m not able to import them and Final Cut exits immediately, maybe there’s something wrong with the directory structure, even if it is exactly the same as the other folders.
    How can I fix this?
Is there any software capable of restoring possible structure problems?
Is there any other way to bypass this error?
    Thanks
    Giovanni

Some cameras have clip repair functions. See if your camera can do that. Also, you might checkout ClipWrap It’s an alternative to L&T. Maybe it’d have more luck with the problem media. Ther’s a trial version.
