    Final Cut Pro 4.5 preferences .. I assume I should delete that? (ouch)
    Final Cut Pro POA Cache (dated the same as Final Cut pro 4.5 file) delete also?

    ok back in business
    now returning to the other problems I created moving the media in the first place… lets hope I am not back here tomorrow asking why reconnect isnt working for me!

    It’s not a problem. I figure it’s good karma. If it’s not, I am in a whole heap of trouble. 😉

    Glad you are up and running and if you can’t get anything reconnected, please write back. You will not be able to reconnect render files so plan on re-rendering everything and you might as well check the ‘ignore’ box on the render files (NOT the media files) when you first launch your project.

    any advice you can give about how or what to delete on a regular basis to keep from loading up my drives with unnecessary stuff?

    This might be obvious, but one thing that helps, esp. in HD is to maintain awareness of the space your render files are taking up. Just go Tools>Render Manager and take a look. Sometimes old ones get wierd corruption too. Their naming convention makes zero sense if you actually open the folders but you can play them.
