    Is it possible to use the pmw ex1 as a pass thru to view from the timeline of FCP on a lcd tv?
    I have tried all I can think of to do so.

    Final Cut 6.0.2
    pmw ex1

    hooked into the hdv firewire ilink
    switched to sd to enable ilink
    easy set up as xdcam

    No, Final Cut doesn’t encode HDV without conforming it using software. You need (hardware) either a capture card or Matrox MXO to interface with live video from FC.

    I just take the 2nd DVI out of my MacPro graphics card and use DVI to HDMI cable to my HDTV 46″ 1080p. Works just fine real time. It’s not color accurate of course. Matrox MXO would allow color calibration for the HDTV.
