I dont know what to do here. I was working in a Project and when I hit play fcp pinwheeled. I figured it was just that time to relaunch fcp so I did so and it happened again. Two hours later I have read everything on the net, trashed the prefs and any plug ins and I am still a no go. Please help. I have a dodecca with fcp 6

What are the SEQUENCE SETTINGS? And then what is every format you have on that sequence? These are the details we need to know to help you.

For example…if you have DV, HDV, ProRes, H.264 footage, all on an HDV sequence…that’s pretty bad, and will lead to all sorts of issues. #1, non-GOP formats on a GOP sequence cause issues. #2, H.264 isn’t an editing codec. Stuff like that.

So we need to know ALL the details. Not “my arm hurts.” But, “My arm hurts near my elbow when I bend it like this…”

Your media storage drive may be full , in need of maintenance or just going bad. Or not.

I am sorry if I have not been specific enough. Here is what I believe you are looking for:

THe project where I first noticed this was a DVCPro HD native project with some HDV on the timeline. As i mentioned I have tried everything between DV and ProRes (DV, DV50, DVCPro HD, UNcomp 8 and 10 SD, Pro Res) in the appropriate native timeliness since this issue has begun and I have had no luck.

My arm appears to hurt when anything is done to it.

My media drive is indeed not full and all 5 of my raids and external hard drives are not going bad simultaneously.

Somehow after all of this the computer plays back perfectly today. Thanks for all your help anyway.
