I am editing in FCE on a Macbook ( 120 GB HD / Lacie ex HD / 4 GB RAM memory ) since recently, when I open FCE I have to watch a lot of beachball when I play back material etc.
When I add titles etc. it ‘ suddenly’ brings out a little render screen ( it never was like that before )
I have ajusted the preferences etc. according to the way it is described in Tom Wolsky’s book on FCE .
The beachball appeares too when I work with material that is on my internal drive .
    I have tried :
    -deleting the pref’s
-turning down the percentage of memory use of the application to 80 and 90 percent .
    -changing firewire to USB
    -repairing the HD

Nothing really made a diffirence , any ideas very welcome !
thanks in advance for your reply …
