  • Final cut creates seperate files when capturing and outputting?

Posted by Jon Jacobs on July 27, 2007 at 3:22 pm

    Hey Everyone,

For some reason, when I’m capturing footage, I get three different files in the capture scratch. For instance, it will output: My file.mov-v, My file.mov-v1, and My file.mov-v2. It also outputs this way. Any idea what’s going on? Thanks alot.

    Best,

    Jon

What format drive are you exporting to?

Capturing separate media is a capture setting, easily modified.

“Output” is not a valid term for FCP. You can export and you can print to tape.

There may be some weird video formats that come into your machine as separate media files without intervention or control but you haven’t bothered to include that information.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
