I freelance for a production house.
I do all my edits, capture, etc on a traveler

I get to the shop with my drive, copy all the media and material off the traveler to the shops raid.

disconnect my traveler, open project, reconnect if needed.

    I leave.

In house editor opens project… media offline.
    he reconnects
    saves
    re opens later…..
    media off line.

    all stored on RAID drive.

    Thoughts?

btw, I cannot consolodate the project, reviews and changes are made after this.
Then, I do fixes and deliver prj file for layoff.

Does the same thing happen if he copies your bins and timelines to a fresh project before relinking and saving?
You should also check the path names that FCP is trying to look for when the media shows up as offline. You can do this in the relink media window or by exporting an XML and checking the ‘pathurl’ fields.
