    Hi,

Camera –> firewire to dv repeter (link here – this is supposed to multiply the feeds –> then one firewire from dv repeter is going to the live mixer and another firewire feed is going to a mac which live captures everything from the camera.

Problem: if 2 or more feeds are connected then fcp6 or 7 quits/crahses. Deck keeps recording. if only one feed is connected going to the mac with fcp, and no other firewire is connected to the dv repeter, fcp keeps capturing.

With imovie 8, I can record both on the deck and on with imovie. However imovie records only .dv from the feed and there is no way to make it record .mov files which will play fine in fcp. Plus in .dv file audio and video are not separate tracks.

Any walkaround this? Any other similar device like dv repeater?

    Thanks,

PS called datavideo guys, product is discontinued, and they have no idea.

//later PSS – does any of you know if imovie’11 records .mov files? and the size is 720×480?
