I have a Power Mac G5 bought in 2004. I had Final Cut Pro 4.5 which worked fine with Tiger. Recently I upgraded to Leopard OSX10.5.1. Final Cut worked but Soundtrack, Live Type, and DVD Studio pro all crashed when I tried to open them. I bought the new Final Cut Studio2 yesterday. Final Cut 6.0 works but Soundtrack, DVD Studio Pro, Livetype, and Motion all still crash. What can be done about making them operational?

I am guessing that you ran all the installs (leopard and FCP S2) as upgrades.

It is best to do a clean install, backup your data, then erase and install the OS.

I’d also suggest a clean install.

Actually I got Leopard and final cut 2 as new. (I had Tiger)
    They weren’t upgrades.

New copys YES, new clean installs NO.

It sounds like you installed it OVER your old tiger, instead of completely erasing your start up drive and installing a fresh clean copy of the OS.

You already had problems before installing the new software, problems that were caused by something being corrupt, When you install new software OVER old it only updates or changes part of it NOT the entire thing.

Like we said you really should erase your start up drive and do a erase and install of the OS and then install FPC. That will give you a CLEAN instal.
