Filter that gradually stretches edges only to fit 4×3 to 16×9?
Posted by Spotnik on February 26, 2007 at 10:57 pmDoes anyone know of a filter that stretches 4×3 to 16×9 by gradually stretching the
edges only, leaving the center (and talking head) relatively untouched? This would be
the same effect as “justify”view on my 16×9 monitor.Spotnik replied 19 years, 2 months ago 4 Members · 6 Replies -

February 26, 2007 at 11:31 pmYou could just keyframe the “Distort” parameter under your “Motion” tab.

February 27, 2007 at 1:55 amHey,
A while back I noticed a 4×3 video I did for a client playing on a widescreen monitor at their place, and it was stretched like you say, at the edges only. I asked about this and got an answer from I think Gary Adcock, he said what it was but I can’t remember and I can’t find the post. Maybe Gary will see this.

That plug may do exactly the same thing as the process Gary mentioned, but it’s not the same one. No big deal though.

February 27, 2007 at 2:39 pmPretty much any widescreen TV has a “Stretch” option built in that will do this.

February 27, 2007 at 4:45 pmThanks for the Smart Anamorphic filter suggestion. This is what
I was looking for. The distortion ramp towards the edges is really
steep however (steeper than what my Panasonic monitor does) and there is no
way to adjust this. Any other filters like this out there?
