    i was just wondering.

is there anyway to use the stabilizer by film fix or any other 3rd party stabilization software in conjunction with parenting.

basicaly, is there anyway i can use the position data generated by the effect to pass onto another layer

i know about parenting and only a few expresions but the data generated by the stabilizer works while keeping the layer static, but changes the position of the layer being stabilized inside the layer itself

please help , it is very urgent.

    any other suggestions welcome

(i have already tryed the AE motion tracker, but it is too unaccurate)

    thankyou

If I read your post correctly,… what you need is the tracking information so that you can parent that information to an expression related to another layer.

    And… you say AE’s motion tracking isn’t good enough…

And, you need a 3rd party software that can provide you with complete tracking information… if this is the case, the answer is – yes. And, can be done very easily and very quickly. That’s the good news.

Now, the bad news… the cost. The kind of software you probably need is Mocha by Imagineers.

If you can afford this software, I feel certain it will do what you need. I have found it to be VERY good tracking software… but, it does have a learning curve that is not as easy as it is presented by the tutorials.

I made a tutorial for Mocha which you can find here – it coveres motion tracking:

    https://library.creativecow.net/articles/rabinowitz_aharon/Mocha_Tut_1.php

This may give you an idea about difficulty an usability. You can always use the trial software – right?

I am working on a tutorial for stabilization too.

    Best,

    Aharon

    Aharon,…

…your tutorial is the best and most detailed tutorial that is made about MOCHA… unfortunately, it is the only good tutorial about the product to date. It is unfortunate that the makers of the software haven’t made better tutorials than what they have done to date.

    Oh yea… btw,

I combined your tutorial about Mocha and Andrew Kramer’s tutorial about Demon Face Warp and his tracking/stabilization method of parenting position, rotation and location… AND…

…Viola’… instant video stabilization software… but, I still have problems trying to create tracking points for video that has objects that disappear completely from the screen (like in panning a shot).

… Stabilizing/tracking a Panning shot tutorial would be great.
