    Hi guys,

I’m trying to replicate this transition effect that was done on an avid. I’m on fcp 5.1 and i have got access to boris plugins as well. Please check the link below for the video for a better idea.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8S5ezP8Ih0

Now on the avid i would just add edit on layer 2, drop my plugins/avx filters, render and i’m done! If i need to copy this particualr transition across few instances in my sequence, i would just need to copy the filler and duplicate it at the point where i need the transition.

which is where i’m stuck on the fcp!! Although i managed to create the same transition on the fcp as well, i would like your thoughts on how best i can replicate this transition across the timeline.

On the fcp I nested shot A and shot B added glow for layer 1, duplicated the same onto v2, played around with the scaling and opacity to achieve the effect. Now if i need to duplicate this transition, I would need to individually copy every plugin/scaling properties of the nested clip and paste them back again… which is a drag when you are rushing for deliveries….

Is my method wrong? Is there a better solution?? What is the alternative on the fcp for adjustment layer in after fx??

As i was tweaking with this, i also noticed that i can’t copy the attributes from the motion tab(basic motion, opacity etc) as a template to the browser? I’m sure i’m missing something here and would love to get some advice from you all. Thanks for your time and replies..

    cheers

I can’t see your video on U-tube. Can you post it somewhere else?

I’ve been wondering the same thing. If anyone out there has any ideas, I’d love to hear them as well.

    Thanks.
