  • Fill screen with picture then fade into video?

So I’m trying to get a picture to overlap a video/audio while its playing and then later fade out. How do I accomplish this? I’ve tried some methods by placing the picture on top of the video timeline but the only problem is that the picture doesnt encompass the entire viewing rectangle, when i try to adjust it through “video pan/crop” there seems to be margins where the picture can’t be placed, thus limiting it to a certain area, how do i get passed this?

Here’s a picture showing what I have right now:

I want the picture to fill up the WHOLE screen and then fade into the background video… can someone help me do this please?

Click the Pan/Crop of the picture and then right click on it and choose match output aspect. Now the picture should have the same aspect ration as the project (DV/HDV…)

I’m on it like a fat kid on a twinkie

That’s going to use a LOT of tracks. As long as my photos are reasonably spaced on the timeline, I tend to put them all on the same track. I can then fade them up and down as necessary. Although I tend to use envelopes, especially when two or more video tracks are involved, I can also fade up and down by simply adjusting the transition at the beginning and end of the clip/photo.
