Filet Caps on transparent text
Posted by David Gerber on February 23, 2018 at 4:31 pmI am trying to add filet caps to transparent text. But you can see the intersecting geometry inside of the letters. Any ideas?

February 23, 2018 at 5:43 pmHey Justin, thanks for the response!
I have done that but then I do not get the look results I am looking for. I want to keep the bolded/ rounder look but when I constrain I get a much lighter looking font.

February 23, 2018 at 5:44 pmwhen you turn on Fillet Caps the Constrain option becomes available – that changes the fillet process from adding size to the text to add in the fillet (which is what is causing your problem) to adding fillet by making the face (cap) smaller. Which causes it’s own problems, basically you just have to use the choice and the fillet size that gives the results you want/can live with with the font you are using.

February 23, 2018 at 5:56 pmYes, the dreaded “crashing” fillet, which is a real nightmare in true nurbs applications.
Solution: find a heavier font.
