  • Files not transferring into FCP

    Hello,
I have been given a project which is P2 files shot in the States at 23.98fps 720p@59.94hz HD100 (Shot on an HVX 200 I believe). These files are copies from the original P2 cards obviously, but several of them are not transferring in the Log and Capture window in FCP. I can view the files, P2CMS can view them and make transfer copies them with no errors, but FCP will not transfer the files. The Log and Capture window hangs up for a few minutes then shows the red exclamation mark next to the item in the transfer window. Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Matthew.

You have the entirety of the P2 card’s original structure, that includes Proxy, Video, Audio folders, Lastclip.txt file, .MXF files etc. Or you have just the .MOV files that someone else already imported into FCP?

    Hi Noah,
It’s the entire file structure as what is generated when the cards are formatted.
I think I have resolved the issue, transferring the files to another drive has rectified the problem, can’t explain why, maybe dud sectors on the transport drive (FW 800), though P2 CMS had no problem reading the files.
One of those computer (read FCP) things I suppose.
