Files no longer rendered when I open project
I’ve been running Premiere Pro 1.0 for months now with no major issues. I’m editing a project I shot on miniDV and storing all the raw footage on a MyBook 1tb external hard drive with a USB 2.0 connection. OS is Windows XP.
Two days ago I opened a project I’d just been working on the day before and noticed that the load time was a lot longer than usual. Then, when it finally opened I saw that all of my rendered clips were no longer rendered and that Premiere was re-conforming all the avi and audio files.
I tried opening several other projects and found the same problem. I never changed the letter of the external hard drive, nor did I move or rename the folder where the footage is stored. I tried re-rendering the clips and saving the project under a new name but the same thing happens when I re-open it.
The hard drive isn’t even close to being full. There’s plenty of space left on it.
Any idea what’s happening? I’ve searched for hours online looking for some answers but haven’t come up with anything.
I’m working on a deadline and I can’t proceed until I figure this out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
