I’ve just captured HD video from my Sony V1U using the Vegas HDV capture tool. When I try to import the file to Vegas it does not recognize. I am not able to drag and drop either. I selected the HDV 1080-24p (1440×1080, 23.976 fps) settings.

    Help!

Are you capturing from the hard drive attachment? If so, you should be able to just drag the files over to your system and populate the timeline that way- there would be no need for capture.

If you are using tape it would not make sense for the file to not be recognized. Have you captured footage from this cam before using the same method you did this time? What were the results? Try recapturing a small portion and see if that will work.

Is the footage you captured playable in any player such as VLC, Media Player Classic or Nero Showtime?
