I’m a bit unfamiliar with Avid’s term when importing images. “File pixel to video mapping”
could anyone explain in which ways one uses this? For example, if i’m working in 601 and
my image is in RGB, which selection do i make. i.e., is it the file source or the file destination that
it is video mapping? I’ve already searched avid’s forum and could not find an answer.
    greatly appreciated.

For color space, it is referring to the source. If you select RGB, it assumes that color space on source and maps/converts to REC601/709. If you select 601/709 it assumes you know the source is that and won’t touch any of the values. The target is always REC601/709 in the system.
