August 25, 2006 at 11:55 pmCan you copy all of your sequences and bin information into a new project and try save it that way?
That error is usually a hallmark of file corruption.
You may have to dig into your Autosave Vault to find a copy that’s not corrupt.

August 26, 2006 at 12:48 amWe seem to have this problem alot, usually when the project has been sitting open a long time, like in the morning after an all night render. Try saving the project has a copy, and if that does not work save it to another drive other than your normal project folder. That works for us most of the time.

August 26, 2006 at 3:36 pmYou can also export an XML of the project, in lieu of saving. Then quit FCP, open the XML & ‘Save As’ to overwrite the corrupted project file.

August 26, 2006 at 4:04 pmOOH! That’s a GREAT idea, Arnie!
I’d still try both ways, just to cover the bases, but Arnie’s is an elegant solution!
Thanks!

August 27, 2006 at 1:14 pmwe get that…
we’ve got 4 G5s accessing shared media on an Xsan system.
project files are also on the XSan,
and if one machine shuts down for whatever reason, while FCP is one on the others,
the other FCP stations cant save their files.our workaround is to save-as to the desktop,
then drag to the Xsan projects folder and replace the old one.nick
