this is the 5.0.4 project i’ve loaded into 6.0.1 and have reconnected all the clips. everything seems to be there. . . no white clips on the timeline. i’ve also searched this forum for other threads about this problem and i’ve made sure my project file is not on an external drive, i’ve done a “save as”, so not sure what else i can do. it appears there are a/some corrupted media files in the timeline since i only get this error at certain sections on the timeline.

so, if i can narrow down which files are corrupt, how might i “UNcorrupt” them…if that is even possible?

    thanks again!

i had the brilliant idea of doing a Media Manager copy/move of the media in the project to another drive. i did a copy, and it all went smoothly, EXCEPT for two Motion (v2) projects which were on the timeline. i skipped those, and continued with the copy.

after loading this MM version of the project, i reconnected those two Motion files and everything rendered smoothly from there. my guess is that since i have Motion 2 and 3 on my system there was a bit of confusion in the G5 about this.

anyway, hopefully that bit will help someone else when they see “file error: unknown file”.

    thanks again!
