    Hi Everyone,

I’m working on a new music video and really want to do this effect.

If you’ve seen Fight Club than you’ll know what I’m talking about.

I have scene’s where I want to compose a character for very brief moments into a shot.

    FIGHT CLUB EXAMPLE:
    – In the beginning, about 6 minutes in when goes to see the doctor; just as the doctor is saying “swing by first methodist church…” a very brief shot of TYLER DURDEN (Brad Pitt) appears standing next to the doctor. Here

I’m confident (not certain) that I have all the necessary software and hardware to do this. (CS5 MASTER COLLECTION, FINAL CUT).

Thank you for any guidance you can give to this after effects noob 🙂

    Peace,
    Sam G.

I haven’t watched Fight Club since it first came out so I’m going purely on my often faulty memory, but if I recall correctly, they just took a separate shot of Pitt (perhaps chroma keyed) and composited a few frames of it over the scene. It may have been stylized to give a certain look (like a subtle Glow when the same technique is used to briefly flash a ghost into a scene), but the basic idea is the same.
