Field Rendering issue in DaVinci 12 Beta
Hi there
We are trying to render out 1080i50 Apple ProRes HQ clips in DaVinci 12 Beta. We have checked the ‘Enable Field Processing’ box in the project settings and also the ‘Field Rendering’ box on the Deliver page. However as soon as we click ‘Start Render’ the tick for ‘Field Rendering’ instantly disappears. The exported clip looks to be progressive.Any help and advice gratefully received!

If you put it into Mediainfo what does it say?

Hiya, thanks for getting back to me:
In MediaInfo the file information for our Resolve delivered clip is:
Scan Type: ProgressiveWhereas our footage normally reads:
Scan Type: Interlaced
Original Scan Type: Progressive
Scan type, store method: Interleaved fields
Scan order: Top field first.
(The original Scan Type and Scan order fields do not appear for the Resolve delivered clip).We are sure that the checkbox for ‘Field rendering’ is being unchecked upon us clicking ‘Start Render’. We have used DaVinci Resolve 11 to export these clips before without this problem.
Any thoughts?

Could it be a bug?
Have you tried rendering to other codecs/containers in 1080i50? Or just without any grading or pluginfilters applied?

Yes, we have tried both of those things. It still outputs a progressive clip.

Sounds like a bug. I would go back to Resolve 11.

This should be addressed in Beta 2, now available.

The Beta 2 version did indeed solve the issue and I am now able to export interlaced clips. Thanks everyone for your help.
