  • Few questions on Sony Vegas Pro 11

So, I have a very good computer. I take use of GPU Acceleration in Sony Vegas and allow about 5 GB of ram for sony vegas to use. After having Sony Vegas open for a little bit, the preview starts to get very laggy and slow. I have to restart Sony Vegas for it to become smooth it. I only have the preview in Preview (Auto) and so it should be perfectly smooth.

Also, how come only sometimes I’m able to render in .AVI? Most of the time .AVI isn’t an available option to render in. Why not?

When you say “5 GB of ram for sony vegas”, what do you mean by this. How do you set this? What is your total RAM?

I have 8 GB of DDR3 in my computer, and allow Vegas to have 5500 out of 7163 MB available.

The 5500 you have set aside is only for “RAM preview”. Set this to 100 unless you are previewing to RAM, otherwise it slows Vegas down, especially during rendering. If you want faster previews turn off effects at the preview screen. I don’t have Vegas in front of me at the moment. You’ll find it!
