Feedback on a logo
Hi,
I’m working on a logo (with a friend) for a project both of us want to run with. The main idea is to resemble a play button and utilise the word “CLIQ” geometrically. The purpose of the logo is for a gaming/ entertainment YouTube channel.
This is the current design:
I’ve raised a few issues with it regarding the thickness and lack of vibrancy.
I’m trying to approach a look where the letters are more joined together (with the concept of “less is more”). I feel there’s too much going on with 5 different shapes on the logo; decided to resolve it via joining up the letters where possible.
We’re split on this as we both agree on the thickness however we’re not on the same page with the 3 faded strips and the possibility of joining the “I” and “Q”.
From a design perspective what would you make of this?

I am finding the word hard to read. I get that you want to be minimal but people should be able to look at it and see that it spells Cliq before they’re told what the word actually is. Make sense? I would work on the readability a bit more.
