Feature Request
Posted by Andrea Stewart on November 17, 2007 at 3:50 pmIs there a forum for feature requests for the next iteration of AE?
I’d love to see a global replace option. For those situations where you’ve placed one piece of footage in many compositions and nested compositions and then later want to use a different piece of footage.

But relating to your situation, here’s a workaround: quit the project, delete the old footage then give the new footage the same name as the old footage. Then reopen the project.

November 18, 2007 at 2:24 amor, you can just right click on the footage in the project window and from the pop-up choose replace footage. This will replace every instance of the footage with your new footage.

The replace footage command does this: Cmd+H (Ctrl+H on PC). Of course, it only works for footage items, not compositions.

November 18, 2007 at 9:58 amI’d really like to see some support for 3D. Like the very basic being able to extrude things (especially text but also solids and shapes) into 3D space. Why on earth doesn’t After Effects allow this without something like 3D Invigorator or Shatter?
