First: HI, this is my 1st day/post here. Just discovered this awesome sight. Vow!

Second: I am a total beginner with FCPX. I have a MBP connected via Thunderbolt to a Cinema Display and then a LaCie 2Big Disk (4TB). I was hoping to be able to use the LaCie for video files, but FCPX didn’t allow me to import video to the LaCie. So my question is “What is the best way to use the TB drive with FCPX?”

    Thanks guys…

Make sure the drive is formatted as Mac OS Extended.

    All the best,

    Tom

    Welcome Tim the cow!

I am sure you will find this a rich and useful experience.

Listen to anything Tom has to say as he is one of the most knowledgable contributors here.

Make sure that disk is formatted OSX journaled.

If the disk is empty you can format it using disk utilities in the osx utilities folder.

    Welcome to the pasture!
    David
