  • FCPX Transitions: Unique problem?

Posted by Jason Rushton on May 1, 2012 at 4:21 am

    Dear users,

I know many questions have been asked before about FCPX transitions, because I think I have read most of the answers!

I don’t know if my case is unique or not.

I am simply trying to add a bloom transition.

I have upwards of 7 seconds of media handle on either adjacent clip.

Why can’t I add the transition?

Is my computer not fast enough, etc?

    Thank you and best regards,

    Jason.

(Here is a screenshot: I am trying to add the transition between the clip where the cursor is and the following time-lapse clip).

Can’t download the zip file to a mobile device. Can’t you just post the image here and tell us what’s happening? What exactly happens when you select the edit point and press Cmd-T? What version of FCP is this?

    All the best,

    Tom

Jason- in your screen shot it looks like a very short piece of gap is between the selected clip and the timelapse shot, which would prevent you from adding a transition. Jump to that edit point and zoom all the way to confirm and delete the gap. Then you should be fine adding a transition.

Thank you for your quick responses Tom and James.

I actually cleared some more space on my start-up disk which seems to have fixed the problem…

    Best regards,

    Jason.
