  • FCPX Replace corrupted frames using Motion. Why is the new clips shorter?

    Hi all,
I had very helpful reply on my previous post re FCPX creating corrupted frames. I found a way to replace any corrupted frames. See my previous post for details (FCPX creating corrupted frames?)
A new question emerged from replacement of the corrupted frames, I am hopeful, that somebody might fill me in.
I exported a selection of the FCPX clip as an Image sequence, imported the sequence into Motion, did some repair on one frame and shared it into a Quicktime movie, which I re-imported into FCPX. So far no problem. Then, if I want to replace the old (corrupted) selection for the new one, I find, that the new selection is shorter that the old one.
I wonder why. Is a clip from images, registered more efficiently in FCPX? Or is there any other cause? I would very much like to understand more of it. Just curiosity.
Meanwhile, I think I can solve this new issue by slightly applying a slow motion to the new selection ultil the two match again, it’s only a few frames. This will create double or retimed frames to fill the gap. But it struck me as strange. Does anyone understand and be willing to share his knowledge?
