    Hello all
I was looking for some time how to do few things in FCP X. No luck. Id like to make sure if that can be done and I have few questions:
    1. Is it possible to open a clip (two) from fcp x project in motion5. Mainly to do chroma keying or any other purpose. if so, how?
    2. if not what is the shorter way to send this clips to motion5? As i know u cannot sher or export part of the project or only one clip. How to do it if it is a 20 sec long part of clips in the middle of the background clip and 20 sec of green screen in the middle of a clip as well? if there is keying in every 10sec for 20sec in the project?
3 is it Possible import stills 1frames long for timelapse for example? Could not see so low setting.

it looks like few reasons to stay with fcp7. Tell me please if im wrong

Im sorry for my polish and so many questions in my first post in here.

[jowek kon] “1. Is it possible to open a clip (two) from fcp x project in motion5. Mainly to do chroma keying or any other purpose. if so, how?”

No, this isn’t currently possible unfortunately.

[jowek kon] “2. if not what is the shorter way to send this clips to motion5? As i know u cannot sher or export part of the project or only one clip.”

The simplest way is to drop the clip you want to export to Motion into a new “Project” on its own and then use the Share option to do the export.

[jowek kon] “3 is it Possible import stills 1frames long for timelapse for example?”

Strangely the smallest duration for still frame import is 1/10 second which is just silly and no use to you. The best way to do this kind of thing anyway is to use QuickTime 7 to import your image sequence and then export a movie (Note “export” not “save”) which you can then use inside FCPX if that’s where you want to work.

thank you very much for your replay..
    “isn’t currently possible”
is that means there will be update which bring fcpx to normal and same functions back?
or apple does not care anymore..

I have no idea what Apple are planning though I do think that a) send to Motion will arrive pretty quickly, and b) many of the things that a lot of people are hoping/expecting will either not happen any time soon, and in some cases they will never happen at all.

Of course, I could be wrong – but the one thing I would be prepared to bet the farm on is that FCP will never, ever “return to normal” 😉
