    Hey guys

Am i just missing something but i cannot figure out how to do “Fit to fill” in FCPX

Lets say i have an audio track, and i make in/out points, then i go to my video and make in/out points. I use to be able to drag that video in/out points over to the right side of the viewer and do “Fit to Fill” and it would match up the in/out points on the audio track. Am i missing it or is there no way to do this now?

Thank you so much for your help.

OK… I think I’ve figured out a fit to fill. First make a selection of the video to fit and add marker(s) to the audio. Using the position tool drag it to the in point marker of the audio. Then using the retiming tool drag the clip to fit the desired audio. This will automatically scale the timing to fit. Check out the available quality selections of the retime tool: optical flow is available and rendered quickly on my test. If you are trying to fit a clip between 2 other video clips, place the new video on a track above them, otherwise the retiming will ripple everything.

Just my method so far. Your mileage may vary.
