FCPX Analyze & Fix: Where did easy on/off go?
Howdy Folks,
I’ve been visiting CC forums for years, but this is my very first post. I cannot find an answer to this anywhere…
I am now running FCPX 10.5. A few versions ago, in the Video Inspector there was a toggle for analyze rolling shutter/stabalization.
Now, suddenly, the only place I can find it is in Modify -> Analyze and fix. But when I deselect it there, the clip doesn’t revert to the original. Indeed, I can find no way to revert the clip the original.
These analysis options are likewise removed from the import menu.
What’s going on? Why is this not covered or mentioned anywhere?

Rolling shutter and stabilization are still in the inspector. They’re there for clips in the timeline, not in the browser.

I have no idea what that means.
Analysis is also available from the shortcut menu for a clip.
It was removed from importing because it completely bogged down background tasks unnecessarily. It’s very rare that anyone wants to analyze for stabilization and rolling shutter every, single clip they import. You probably only want to run it on the clips you’re using in your project.

Before I submitted this query I had put a clip in the timeline to see if that was the case; it just so happened to be a multicam clip and so didn’t have that option in its viewer.
By “revert to the original” I meant that if you went through the modify menu, when you deselect the analyze for stability option the specified clip retains its fix, rather than reverting to the unmodified, original, unstabalized footage, as it does when you toggle the option on and off in the inspector.
