FCPX 10.0.4 – duplicating projects/events question
hi, I am backing up my work to external HD via duplication through FCPX.
Can someone in the know confirm the following:
1. When you Duplicate the event – it only takes the event and ALL its contents – therefore it does NOT back up any associated projects?
2. BUT – If you duplicate the Project AND Referenced Events it duplicates ALL the clips in the event window INCLUDING the clips that have not been placed in the Project timeline?
I am working in version 10.0.4

Yes, this is expected behavior for v10.0.x
Unless there is a truly compelling reason, I would strongly recommend that you update to the latest version. The Library structure changes to something that makes much more sense, it eliminates a truckload of bugs, and adds a boxcar full of features and speed improvements. You’ll want to back everything up before upgrading of course, but the overall improvement in speed and function is worth 10x the effort.
Any reason you’re still on 10.0.4?
