Being it is the first time I am in need of doing this, I thought I would send my question out to the masses to see what the best options are.

I am not familiar enough with the audio output for FCP S2 to not need some help. I am reading through the manuals, but as usual the mainly say “yes you can do that” and then leave you hanging.

I need to output my final 30 minute program with the following audio configurations:

    Channel 1 – Stereo Left
    Channel 2 – Stereo Right
Channel 3 – Mono Mix Minus (No announcer – Only content, music, sfx, etc.)
    Channel 4 – Mono Mix

Is anybody doing this on a regular basis? How do I need to configure my FCP S2 audio to be able to get this kind of output?

    Mac OS X 10.5.2 Leopard
    2 x 2.66GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon
Final Cut Pro Studio 2 6.0.2

I tend to get my mixes from the audio mixer, so I end up with one file matching each of those perameters. One file that is a two channel stereo mix, one file that is a Mono mix Minus, and one that is the Mono mix. So what you’ll have to so is export audio mixes from your finished sequence as such, so you end up with 4 tracks of audio.

Then, in the Sequence Settings, Apple-0 (zero) when you click on the AUDIO tab, you can direct what track does what.

I think there is a bug in FCPS2.
When you change a six-channel-sequence in the sequence-audio-settings from multichannel to two-channel-stereo for example and after that try to change again back to six channels.
The audio-routing-settings remain to the two-channel setting.
You have to manually set the routing for each track beginning with channel 3 (eg track3 -> order 3).
This is very unusefull. Also there is no summarywindow showing all the routing-settings.

    hope it helps.

    cheers
