FCP/Photoshop distortion
When I import a PSD file into an FCP project, I’m getting a 12.5% distortion in the timeline. It’s squashed from side to side, so a circle appears as a vertical oval.
My sequence settings are XDCAM EX (1920 x 1080, square pixels, upper dominance), and the Photoshop file is set up the same way (HDTV 1080p under the Film and Video pulldown).
I double-click on the PSD file and it opens on the timeline as a sequence and copy and paste the layers into the sequence with XDCAM EX footage, it’s distorted. Of course, I can tweak each layer in the motion tab, but that’s a pain. Any ideas on why this might be happening?

Troubleshoot this by making a new sequence, then editing the PS file into the timeline. Allow it to “autoconform”. Then, check the sequence settings for the graphic and see how it differs from your main sequence. Make adjustments to the graphic in Photoshop, then reimport.
