  FCP_703 (with a spanish keyboard) forgets keyboard layouts

  hello,

  I searched the web intensively for that and there was no obvious answer … so I thought I may address the MSJ society …

  this is the problem:
  I am using FCP 703 on Lion 10.7.4 (on SL it was the some thing …) and there is a serious issue with the keyboard layout settings for the shortcuts:

  The system language is set to english.
  FCP is US
  computers keyboard is spanish

  on load the shortcuts are not working properly. all kinds of disfunction. then I load the default keyboard settings (US) and it gets better but is still not recognising the spacebar for ‘play’ or the letter a for ‘selection tool’.

  when I then try to customize the keyboard layout or reset it these two shortcuts are not assignable
  “That key combination is reserved. It cash not be assigned.”

  any ideas on how to get these very basic things working?
