    HELP!
I´m in the middle of editing a documentary and after shutting down my computer yesterday, FCP 7 will not reopen my projects. Even from autosave vault is stalls at reading 4%. The message is: This project is unreadable or may be too new for this version of Final Cut.
FCP launches and opens SOME of the other FCP7 projects on this computer but nothing that is important to me. I have restarted, done all possible software updates and trashed preferences. Nothing works.
    What can I do?
This is serious. Please help me if you know any solution.
    Thank you

    Hi Anna

    try deleting all your renderfiles.
    then open the projectfile.
If it wont open; try to take your projectfile away from your media files or wise versa (like ejecting your media drives or open your project file on a mac thats not connected to the media)
If this works: do a save as – with a different name. and reconnect sequence / bin or part of project at the time.
You may have corrupt media files – so you have to locate them and delete them/”heal” them.

    hope this helps you out!

    Hi Andreas,
I have the problem behind me. I think deleting some “user data files” did the trick though I´m not sure. We tried all kinds.
    En takk fyrir 🙂

    Hi There,
Nice that you solved the problem.
There are a few programs that can find and delete these preference files for you.
Nice to have if FCP acts wird.

    You can download from
