FCP7 not conforming SEQUENCE settings to new clip

March 25, 2022 at 12:30 pmOh I woulda thought it would conform the Sequence settings to the audio properties as well, not just video.

March 25, 2022 at 9:50 pmi checked and my audio settings on the source clips are the same as the Sequence. 48hz, stereo. I’m not sure about the bit rate though, i think it’s 16. but i did try the 3 different bitrate options in the Sequence settings (8, 16, 24) and the red render bar persisted no matter which of the three I chose.

March 26, 2022 at 12:30 amFCP7 sequence settings state the video codec, but not the audio codec, for FCP7 offers no choice. FCP7 is liberal about accepting audio codecs, but it always converts them to uncompressed. If you bring, for example, mp3 compressed audio into the timeline, there will be a red render bar and no playback. Conceivably you had such audio in your Compressor-made clips. Audio rendering is quick. Just do it.
